An extremely rare set from 1950, the Bread For Health basketball set is a true gem and very underrated. Given its size and variety of teams represented, it should be considered the fourth true vintage basketball set (the others three being 1948 Bowman, 1957 Topps and 1961 Fleer).
There are 32 different basketball cards in the set from 12 different NBA teams. In fact, it is arguably the first true NBA set as it came out after the Basketball Association of America merged with the National Basketball League on August 3, 1949. The labels appeared on the end of National Baking Company bread loafs. They were only issued during basketball season, and only in limited regional areas, so you can see why the are so hard to find.
